Preschool Dancer Combo class introduces young children to music and performing arts. The program helps students develop listening and motor skills, body awareness, endurance, concentration, group cooperation and individual expression, coordination, and balance. This class introduces dancers to ballet and tap. Students perform two dances in the spring recital.
Students should wear a leotard or fitted top and fitted athletic shorts/capri, pink leather ballet shoes, black tap shoes. A dance skirt is optional. Hair must be up, pulled back and out of the eyes.
Tiny Dancer Combo is open to ages 3 to 4 years old, (potty trained required).

Ballet is the foundation of all dance forms. It is a classical dance form characterized by grace and precision of movement. Dance instruction includes proper technique and terminology. Students should wear a black leotard, pink tights with pink ballet shoes. Hair must be up and out of face. Lyrical/Contemporary Lyrical dance is the fusion of ballet and jazz technique. Expression and musical interpretation helps to create the choreography around dance technique. Students should wear a leotard, or tank top, fitted dance shorts, jazz pants or capris, with tan/nude slip on split sole jazz shoes. Hair must be up and out of face. Jazz dance stresses body isolations, coordination, rhythm and syncopation, and the development of strength and flexibility. Class includes different styles of jazz technique, proper training in leaps and turns. Students should wear a leotard, or tank top, fitted dance shorts, jazz pants or capris, with tan or nude on split sole jazz shoes. Hair must be up and out of face. Tap dance consists of rhythmical sounds that are emphasized by the taps on the dancer's shoes. Dance instruction includes combinations of simple and complex rhythms, proper technique and terminology. Students should wear a leotard, or tank top, fitted dance shorts, jazz pants or capris, with black tap shoes. Hair must be up and out of face. Hip Hop dance is structured dance that was formed and inspired by street dance. Dancer will learn to perform tricks safely in a controlled environment. This style is most popularly seen in music videos. Students can wear any T shirt, athletic shorts, dance pants or capris, clean sneakers or black jazz shoes. No jeans or denim shorts are allowed. Hair must be up and out of the face. NO OUTDOOR SHOES ALLOWED Clogging is a dance that is done in time with the music - to the downbeat usually with the heel keeping rhythm. Sounds are emphasized with the metal on metal taps on the dancer's shoes. Students can wear any T shirt or tank top, athletic shorts, fitted shirts, dance pants or capris, with black clogging shoes. No jeans or denim shorts are allowed. Hair must be up and out of the face. Dancers will learn proper tumbling technique on our air track and matted flooring. This class is NOT a gymnastics class. Dancers will learn tumbling skills that will enhance their dances, which include cartwheels, aerials, front and back walkovers, back handsprings, partner tumbling tricks, and more!
